TRIAGE is currently addressing questions in three general areas: (1) spatio-temporal community dynamics, (2) ecosystem processes and (3) dispersal and movement, as well as interactive effects between these areas, e.g., by using the same sampling regime and sampling locations for community dynamics of different organisms and ecosystem processes.

  • Goal: To examine long-term trends and congruency between fish, invertebrates (surface, hyporheic, and groundwater), benthic algae, and freshwater mussels at different spatial scales; and short-term temporal changes in the importance of community shifts associated with seasonal dynamics.

  • Goal : To examine long-term patterns in nutrient dynamics and ecosystem metabolism short-term temporal changes in ecosystem processes associated with seasonal dynamics

  • Goal: To examine how movement affects the distribution and community composition of riverine organisms.
