As a result of a successful collaboration between the Texas Research Institute for Aquatic and Groundwater Ecology (TRIAGE) and the US Army Corps of Engineers, the article "Go with the flow: Impacts of high and low flow conditions on freshwater mussel assemblages and distribution" has just been published in PlosOne. The study combined a hydraulic model with survey data on the distribution of mussels from 200 sites in a 20km segment in a bed-rock dominated system and provides insight into how the distribution of sedentary freshwater species may be influenced by extreme conditions and rare events.
